The unique “all g’Earl” stringband Uncle Earl has found their niche in exploring American traditional music. Now entering the band’s tenth year, longtime Uncle Earl members KC Groves and Kristin Andreassen are leading a new formation of the band that has influenced a remarkable new generation of old-time musicians. This year Uncle Earl will feature some of the most accomplished and engaging musicians in the American stringband scene, including fiddler Stephanie Coleman, banjo players Paula Bradley and Cassandra Jenkins, and Uncle Earl alums Bryn "Bass Lady" Davies and Sharon Gilchrist (who both also toured and recorded with the Tony Rice and Peter Rowan Quartet among other great bands). Uncle Earl claims that their line-up has "evolved as their musical boundaries have expanded". With 3 new members added just this year, their performance at DelFest is guaranteed to bring more to the table than ever before.
