Rock the Earth Mobile Phone Recycling Drive
DID YOU KNOW?
Cell phones contain toxic substances such as lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium and nickel which enter the ecosystem when phones are thrown out and disposed via landfill.
There are over one billion out of use cell phones in the US alone. That’s more than 3 out of use phones for every person in the US! Less than 10% of cell phones are ever recycled. most enter landfills or incinerators, among other environmentally unsound destinations. Average life span of mobile phone is now only 13 months!
Rock the Earth is calling on all DelFest attendees to gather up as many old, unwanted mobile phones as possible and bring them to the Rock the Earth booth at DelFest for recycling. Each person recycling a phone will receive 20% Off a future Musictoday purchase, 35 Free music downloads from eMusic PLUS each phone is worth one entry into the on-site sweepstakes drawing for cool prizes like CDs and DVDs, Artist Memorabilia, Rock the Earth T-shirts, Digital Downloads plus MANY MORE GREAT PRIZES to be announced!
We will be inviting several non-profit groups to DelFest to educate people and gain support. While you're strolling through the music meadow, don't forget to pay a visit to these wonderful non-profits. Each of these organizations is making positive strides toward addressing compelling social, environmental, and community needs. Your grassroots support is integral to their success: Stop on by and learn about the issues they focus on that make our world a nicer place in which to live.
