Bobby Osborne has been a master of the modern mandolin for over sixty years. Playing under the influence of Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys, Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs, Chubby Wise, and Howard Watts, Osborne became a legend himself by pioneering the bluegrass genre with the Lonesome Pine Fiddlers and the Stanley Brothers. In the mid 1950s the Osborne Brothers broke more new ground with Bobby's innovative "high lead" vocal trio concept. Osborne is a member of the Grand Ole Opry and International Bluegrass Association Hall of Fame, and has been playing at bluegrass festivals since the 1960s. We can't wait to see what he will bring in 2009 at DelFest. Website: bobbyosborne.com |
