Del’s Army Food Drive

Join Del’s Army in helping the Western Maryland Food Bank! We’ve promised Del and Jean we’ll work together to gather a ton of canned goods – literally! 2000 lbs. – for the hungry. Don’t take it home: your donations are needed to help the hungry and homeless in our community. Look for more info on the Del’s Army Food Drive in the DelFest program, available when you arrive at the festival.

Mobile Phone Recycling Drive

Rock the Earth is calling on all DelFest fans to gather up your old, unwanted mobile phones and bring them to the Rock the Earth booth at DelFest for proper recycling. Each person recycling a phone will receive one entry into the on-site sweepstakes drawing for cool prizes like CDs and DVDs, Rock the Earth t-shirts, DelFest commemorative posters and more! The more phones you bring to DelFest for recycling, the less toxic chemicals end up in landfills and the bigger your positive impact on the environment, while also increasing your chances of winning one of these fantastic prizes. All phones are purged of information, with working phones are-distributed via non-profits, domestic violence shelters, and other positive community-based support groups. Outdated phones have all the toxic chemicals and heavy metals removed for re-use and all other components disposed of properly. DelFest Foundation Raffle

A raffle will be held throughout the weekend with daily drawings and a grand prize chosen on Sunday for a custom Martin Guitar! Stop by the Merchandise Tent to buy raffle tickets and check out the other great prizes including tickets to next year’s DelFest. Proceeds will benefit the DelFest Foundation, which gives to a variety of local charities that help the homeless. Winners will be announced from the Grandstand Stage before The Del McCoury Band on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Yonder Mountain String Band is thrilled to return to the 7th annual DelFest on Friday, May 23, and welcomes special guests John Frazier (mandolin, fiddle) and the one and only Jerry Douglas (dobro). Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Allegany County Fairgrounds this Memorial Day Weekend!

Artist Open Submission Winners!

We’re pleased to announce the six bands selected in our first-ever DelFest Artist Open Submissions. Give a warm DelFest welcome to The Barefoot Movement, Dead Horses, Kitchen Dwellers, Liz Frame and the Kickers, Mo’ Mojo and Tuckahoe Ridge String Band! Representing traditional and progressive bluegrass, Americana, folk and beyond, these groups will each perform one set, setting the stages for jam-packed days of great music this Memorial Day Weekend.

Joining an already-stacked Memorial Day Weekend will be The Devil Makes Three, Jim Lauderdale, Chris Jones & The Night Drivers, Shook Twins, Rebecca Frazier and Hit & Run, T Sisters, and Horseshoes & Hand Grenades!

Open Artist Submissions

For the first time ever, we’re opening up our artist submissions for a chance to perform at this year’s festival! We’re searching for fresh, local talent that could be described as traditional and progressive bluegrass, Americana, folk, and beyond.

Open submission period is now closed. All entrants will be notified of their status by Friday, April 18, 2014. Please do not contact our offices to find out your status.

DelFest Academy Update

This year DelFest Academy begins one day earlier with the registration meet and greet beginning Sunday, May 18th and 4pm. Classes will take place Monday thru Wednesday before DelFest. Also new this year, Academy tuition is sold separately and all other items – 4-day Pass, Parking Pass, RV Pass, DELuxe Packages – must be added a la carte to your order.

New This Year: ADA Registration & Service Animal Policy

All festival patrons with mobility disabilities are welcome and will be accommodated at DelFest. In an effort to better serve our guests with mobility disabilities, we have developed a new pre-festival registration procedure. We have also developed a new service animal policy and procedure in the interest of ensuring that bona fide service animals are permitted and all other animals are prohibited at High Sierra.
