Big Announcements for Opening Night
8.7.17 – The 11th Annual DelFest will take place in Cumberland, MD Memorial Day weekend, May 24 – 27, 2017. See you there!
5.8.17 – Joining The Del McCoury Band on Thursday, 5/25 will be Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys), Preservation Horns of New Orleans, Jon Fishman (Phish), and Ronnie Bowman for a special “Del McCoury Band & Friends” affair we’ve been cooking up to kick off the DelFest 10 Celebration! So there’s the answer for those of you wondering why we moved Del’s Thursday set to the headliner spot this year instead of the traditional opening “Soundcheck Set”. That said, Del heard you were missing it, gave it some thought and said, “well, we have to give the fans what they want!” So if the “& Friends” set isn’t already enough excitement, we’ve decided to open the meadow EARLY on Thursday and Del and the boys will still give you that Soundcheck Set you love. Del yeah! The festivities kick off at 3:45pm. Oh and one last fun piece we’ve added for those of you who love a taste of up-and-coming talent…right after Del’s Soundcheck Set, the winner of the DelFest Academy Band Scramble will jump up on the stage and play you a tune! Fun!
Leftover Salmon to Perform Harvest Moon
5.8.17 – Leftover Salmon’s Sunday Grandstand set will feature the band performing Neil Young’s highly-acclaimed album, Harvest Moon, in its entirety.
Joe Craven Playshop Added
5.8.17 – Cravin’ some Craven? Joe’s back this year with a new workshop entitled: “Mashing up the Folk Tradition by Making it Your Own” Joe gives a workshop every year that validates the creative spirit in all of us. See how Joe interprets a tune or song by putting his own spin on it! Bring some ideas of your own, too!
